What happens when you get signed to a record label?

Okay so what if a little kid gets signed to a record label , how does the kid go to school?? PLEASE ANSWER!! =)

The kid doesn't actually sign anything. The parents do. And it's really RARE for a label to sign a child because there are so many laws involved to do with child protection but...as much as they can they leave the child to attend a normal school and have a normal life. they arrange recording dates around weekends and school holidays. There's only so many hours that a child is allowed to work for each day and they must be given rest breaks and meal breaks and free leisure time as well. If they get ancy or upset at all ALL work stops. If the parents call a stop, ALL work stops. If the kid calls a stop or an "I dont wanna" All work stops. If it doesn't the fines and penalties are huge. Charges can be laid. So...they dont often offer contracts to kids.
But if they do and they become famous then they have a private teacher who goes on tour with them and a nanny so the parents can rest and sometimes a nutritionist to make sure they're eating properly.
It's a big deal
