Autograph Card
Whats the best way to get a baseball player to autograph a card by mail?
My son has finally gotten the baseball bug and I have past down all my cards to him there are several that he likes how would I be able to get him the players he likes autographs on to a card with out spending huge amounts of money to get them?
And no I will not sign them myself he'll find out eventually if I did.
Include a short, polite, complimentary, to-the-point note, and a SASE. Don't send any card you are not prepared to lose or never see again; players are under no obligation to fulfill your request. You likely will have more success with less popular players than with high-profile superstars, as they get less mail volume.
Send to the player c/o his home ballpark, or if you think you can nail down the timing, his spring training facility. It is not difficult to find reasonably reliable home addresses, but some view mail at home as an intrusion. (This is different for retired players, though many of the bigger names maintain specific addys, possibly PO boxes, for such requests. With "name" players, particularly HOFers, don't be surprised if a fee is involved.)
